Triglycerides are the most common type of fat in the human body, and they can be turned into solids at 5℃. Cryolipolysis applies low temperature on top of a target fat area to reduce the fat layer, it turns the triglycerides into a solid shape and speeds up the aging of adipocytes, then the dead fat cells will be gradually dissolved and removed by the body’s normal metabolism.
Due to cryolipolysis use suction cups that pull the skin towards the cooling plate, the target area needs a certain of minimum thickness, it is more suitable for obese patients. Cryolipolysis is not suitable for patients who have severe varicose veins and skin conditions over the target area, nor patients who have cold induced conditions such as cold urticarial, cryoglobulinemia, and paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.
1. Patient may feel the discomfort of the pulling of the skin, they may also feel skin and muscle paralysis over the treated area.
2. The treatment may cause slight skin redness, bruising, localized pain, and sensitivity. Post-treatment manual massage is a safe and effective measure to relieve these complications.
